Deputy Team Leader (Air)
AACE is looking for a qualified and experienced senior aviation safety or certification specialist to take a leadership position in our growing aviation safety team. Role characteristics include the desire to meet or exceed client requirements, contribute to the delivery of business objectives and maintain a pro-active, flexible and constructive approach.
You will be part of an experienced team of subject matter experts providing guidance, leadership and management as well as safety or certification knowledge in a range of fixed and rotary wing defence aviation programmes. Applicants will ideally have worked in the military and/or a supporting Defence organisation with a track record of leading and managing teams and delivering projects.
Tasks will include management of team competence and capacity, supporting bids for new work, resourcing programmes of work, maintenance of existing relationships and development of new ones. In addition, you will be expected to deliver outputs against tasks in airworthiness, safety or environmental areas.
Key Skills and experience
Desire to take on a leadership and management role in a growing organisation
Aviation safety or certification practitioner experience either in-service and/or in supporting organisations / companies
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent in an appropriate engineering, safety or environmental (inc. sustainability) discipline
Knowledge and/or experience in delivery under MOD engineering frameworks and/or safety and/or environmental processes under the Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System (ASEMS)
Ability to hold SC security clearance
Competent with the full MS Office 365 suite of applications
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply these confidently at all levels
Incorporated or Chartered Engineer membership of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS)
Qualifications in aviation safety engineering or certification, including, but not limited to:
. Air Safety Management Training; or
. Structural, Systems or Propulsion Integrity Management; or
. International Environmental Management Association – Practitioner (PIEMA)
