![]() TyphoonTYPHOON ARMAMENT SUPPORTAACE was contracted to resolve a number of long running issues affecting the support of the Typhoon aircraft weapons carriage system. A detailed investigation was carried out into the various issues and a plan of action identified to resolve each of the problems. AACE worked with the Prime Contractors and RAF Subject Matter Experts to ensure the identified solutions were delivered. This involved the development of modifications, the production of technical instructions and UK specific maintenance schedules. TYPHOON MISSION DATA SUPPORT TASK AACE was approached to provide a suitably qualified and experienced person to manage the purchase of an IT system and associated bespoke software through the NETMA / EuroFighter contracting route, for use with the Typhoon aircraft. This system was to enable the Air Warfare Centre (AWC) to generate Mission Data for the Defensive Aids Sub System (DASS), RADAR, and Sensor Fusion. This Integrated Generation System (IGS) was to be delivered in 3 phases and so the initial contract with AACE was for 6-months to oversee the delivery of the first release of the IGS and then to enable the IPT to advertise for and recruit a suitable Civil Servant to the role. AACE was able to assign an experienced person to the post who had an understanding of the Typhoon processes and procedures and was able to produce from the first day of employment. On accepting the contract, AACE took on several associated projects including a Typhoon Counter Measurers Development Rig (CMDR), contracting to update the Defence Electronic Warfare Database to accept Typhoon data, and the purchase of several interim tools to enable the AWC to generate Mission Data and carry out trials ahead of the final release of the IGS. Release 1 of the IGS was delivered on time and Releases 2 and 3 were marginally late due to delays in receiving documentation from Industry. All other projects have been delivered on time and within cost. |
