FROM SMALL BEGINNINGS, GREAT IDEAS GROW
 BackgroundAACE was formed in 1996 in order to provide the UK MoD with specialist airworthiness support in a period where safety management and airworthiness regulations were being rapidly developed and applied to all MoD projects. Initially with just a few ex-RAF members the company steadily grew along with its reputation. This steady growth has continued to the present day where AACE is a major support contractor to an increasing client base of MoD IPT's at sites including Abbey Wood, Wyton and Yeovilton.The primary specialisation of AACE was the processes that lead to a military aircraft being certified as a safe system ready for release to the user service. This is traditionally marked by authorisation of a Military Aircraft Release (MAR) or Release To Service (RTS) This resulted in AACE acquiring an expertise in aspects such as URD/SRD, ITEA, Business Case Preparation, Operational Support and Technical Assurance. Although initially starting as an airworthiness specialist, AACE widened its capabilities and became involved in many of the procurement processes that eventually lead to an aircraft being released for flight. As a professional services company working within the aircraft and safety environment, AACE has always paid due regard to the quality of its work and the satisfaction of its customer. Thus it was a natural progression to become ISO 9000-2000 accredited, the provisions of which are now fully implemented within the mature AACE quality management system. As a specialist company, AACE has often found it of benefit to work with other companies within the industry and so in 2006 became a founder member of the Allyance Group of companies which are focussed upon providing the MoD a very wide range of technical support services, drawn from the UK’s Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME Companies). The gathering together of these SME’s has allowed the benefits of innovation, reactiveness and cost effectiveness to be applied to tasks more usually associated with large companies. AACE is based near Oxford, allowing easy access to most MoD and Defence industry sites. Although many of it’s members are located remotely from the headquarters and service particular regional areas.
