![]() ApacheThe Apache Release to Service (RTS) did not meet the standards required by the GARP process and JSP553. In addition, the document had grown through many cycles of amendment since coming into service and, as a result, had become overly cumbersome and inconsistent. The Attack Helicopter (AH) IPT recognised there was a good opportunity to overhaul completely all aspects of the RTS and, therefore, turned to the expertise of AACE to deliver this significant task.AACE undertook a complete review of the document in order to identify shortfalls against mandatory requirements, duplicity and inconsistency of information. AACE also re-assessed the clearances, limitations, warnings, cautions and notes which underpinned the airworthiness of the aircraft, and evaluated the suitability of new evidence presented to support a pending major capability upgrade. AACE was also able to apply best practice gathered from vast experience with both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. AACE then undertook a major re-write of the document to provide a GARP-compliant, greatly-enhanced and user-friendly RTS with a simplified, logical and compliant structure. As such, the delivered document has received exceptionally good feedback from both the AH RTS and user communities. Throughout the upgrade, instant access was provided in the form of supporting text for each change. The audit trail was then recorded and maintained electronically using the ADAMS database tool. |
